Bay View House
Hosted by National Park Service
New listing
Overlooking Cape Cod Bay, there is no better place on Cape Cod to watch a sunset. While located only a few miles from Wellfleet town center, when sitting on the deck enjoying the company of friends and family you will feel miles away from the stress of everyday life. The Bay View House is a three-bedroom, one-bathroom home that sleeps seven. Beds include one queen, one twin, and two fulls. Pillows, blankets, and fans are included; bedsheets and towels are not provided. There is a washer and dryer, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, oven, range, coffeemaker, toaster, dishwasher, pots and pans, eating utensils, and plates. A large deck overlooking Cape Cod Bay has patio furnishings and a propane BBQ grill with propane. There is a flat-screen TV with a Blu-ray player, but no internet or cable. Pets are not allowed. The house offers nearby access to Cape Cod Bay's quiet beaches and tidal flats, and Wellfleet's historic village is a short drive away with book stores, galleries, and restaurants. Explore beyond the beach and you will find the seashore is much more: miles of walking and biking trails through pine forests, across sandy dunes, and alongside freshwater ponds, and lighthouses you can climb for a piece of maritime history. For the wildlife lover, there are opportunities to spot over 450 species of amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, and mammals that make the seashore their home. The great Outer Beach described by Thoreau in the 1800s is protected within Cape Cod National Seashore. Forty miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds, and uplands support diverse species, and lighthouses, cultural landscapes, and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod's past and continuing ways of life. Beyond the seashore, the Cape offers paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, and surfing, along with whale and seal watching. It is also a cultural destination, with hundreds of arts and cultural venues from the canal to the tip of the cape, museums inspired by the Cape's nautical heritage, local towns for shopping, and over 25 local theaters.
