Beaver Lake (Chequamegon-Nicolet NF, WI)

New listing
Beaver Lake Campground is a small, secluded, family-friendly campground on the shores of its namesake lake. The waterfront sites provide spectacular scenic views of the area, and its location gives visitors access to several popular areas of the Chequamegon National Forest. Beaver Lake sits in northwestern Wisconsin, in a forest of maple, birch and red pine trees. The lake is a perfect spot to kayak, canoe, swim or enjoy a leisurely boat ride, and a boat ramp is located about a half-mile from the campground. In addition to the boating and fishing offered at the lake, a number of day hikes can be accessed from the campground. A short trail connects the campground to the North Country National Scenic Trail, which traverses Chequamegon National Forest as it makes its way from New York to North Dakota. The surrounding area offers many miles of off-road vehicle, hiking and mountain biking trails, along with several lakes and rivers to wet a line or launch a boat. Springbrook, a Class 1 brook trout stream, is nearby, and is a popular spot for anglers. The campground offers less than a dozen single-family campsites for tent and RV camping. Each site is equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water are provided, and trash collection and recycling bins are available. Morgan Falls, St. Peter's Dome and the Penokee overlook are all just a short drive from the campground.
