Camp Greentop Dining Hall and Rec Hall

Located on the National Register of Historic Places, Camp Greentop is a location for organized groups to hold large events, retreats or conferences. This rental is for daytime use: guests have exclusive access to the dining hall, recreation hall and grounds, but overnight lodging is not available and the seasonal facilities (cabins, lodges, comfort stations, pool, central showers and laundry) are not included. The camp accommodates up to 150 guests. The dining hall, commercial kitchen and recreation hall all have heating and air conditioning, and the dining and recreation halls contain approximately 40 tables and 100 chairs; the recreation hall has a small stage. The kitchen offers a freezer, refrigerator, three ranges, a convection oven, ice machine, microwave, toaster and dishwasher, along with multiple storage spaces. Outdoor amenities include a grass athletic field and a campfire ring with wooden bench seating, and the camp has basketball goals. Firewood is provided by the park; firewood from outside the park is not allowed. No internet access or Wi-Fi is available, and cellular coverage is best on AT&T or Verizon networks. Trash facilities include a waste and recycling dumpster, and single-stream recycling is available in Camp Greentop. Guests are responsible for cleaning and sanitation of the entire facility, including the restrooms and kitchen. The park provides cleaning equipment (trash cans, mops, buckets, brooms, dust mops, whisk brooms, vacuum cleaners and dust pans) plus limited cleaning supplies, but no paper products, so groups should bring their own or contract a professional cleaning service. Cleaning must be completed by check-out time, when the group leader remains for a walk-through of the entire camp with a park employee. Catoctin Mountain Park, established in 1936, is located along the eastern portion of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The 5,890-acre mixed hardwood forest includes abundant wildlife, freshwater streams and interesting geologic formations. Camp Greentop is shaded by large trees, and a variety of trails (including some accessible trails), interpretive exhibits and picnic areas are within walking distance. Fishing is available by permit within Catoctin Mountain Park and Cunningham Falls State Park, just 3 miles from the Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center; Cunningham Falls also offers seasonal swimming and boating. The park sits near many historical and cultural sites: the Appalachian National Scenic Trail (8 miles), Monocacy National Battlefield (18 miles), Eisenhower National Historic Site and Gettysburg National Military Park (20 miles), Antietam National Battlefield and the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (26 miles), Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park (28 miles) and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (37 miles). Other attractions include the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo and Cunningham Falls State Park.
