Chattahoochee Park

Chattahoochee Park is located on Lake Seminole in Southwest Georgia. There are three reservable picnic shelters in the park, each offering spectacular views of the lake, along with multiple places to bank fish or fish from a pier. All three shelters have eight picnic tables, a grill, potable water and electricity, and restroom facilities within walking distance. A boat ramp provides access to the lake. A playground, tennis court and basketball court are located near the Turkey Flight Shelter, and a sand volleyball court is located near the Swim Beach Shelter. Lake Seminole is known as one of the best sites for sports fishing in America. Extensive stump and grass beds provide abundant cover where anglers fish for largemouth, hybrid, striped and white bass, and sizable populations of catfish, crappie and bream are also present. Over 79 species of fish have been identified in the lake. Lake Seminole has a surface area of 37,500 acres with 376 miles of shoreline, and a pine and hardwood forest covers the rolling hills around it. A variety of wildlife makes its home around the lake, including raccoons, alligators, ring-necked ducks, canvasbacks, scaup, hawks, bald eagles, black vultures, tortoises and snakes.
