Clearwater Falls Campground

Hosted by USDA Forest Service

New listing

Surrounded by picturesque, moist, green foliage along the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway sits Clearwater Falls Campground, where nine campsites take in the sound of the Clearwater River as it meanders through old growth Douglas fir forest. At the lower campground you can stay at one of five campsites and enjoy the waterfall as it drifts downward 30 feet over moss covered rocks and logs to the river below. Or hike the trail to the upper portion of the campground, where four secluded and serene campsites sit along the Clearwater River. Every site has a picnic table and fire ring, a vault toilet serves the campground, and maximum trailer length is 25 feet. Hiking, picnicking and fishing are the activities here. Lemolo Lake, Diamond Lake, Whitehorse Falls and Watson Falls are nearby, along with the Watson Falls (#1496), Silent Creek (#1479) and Umpqua Hot Springs trailheads and the North Umpqua Trail (#1414). The Umpqua National Forest covers 983,239 acres of southwestern Oregon, where hemlock, fir and cedar give way to mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations and alpine ecosystems hold the high peaks. The word Umpqua means thundering waters.
