Dam Area Campground is located on a hill above Narrows Dam, the only all-concrete dam in the Vicksburg District. Lake Greeson is recognized for its rich variety of game fish, including largemouth, smallmouth, striped, spotted and white bass, as well as flathead and channel catfish, black crappie, walleye and bluegill. The clear waters offer an excellent opportunity for many boating activities including water skiing, tubing, personal water craft, or cruising the lake. Trout fishing is a popular attraction for this campground: access to the clear cold waters of the Little Missouri River generated below Narrows Dam is available at the Riverside Day Use Area just a few miles from the campground off AR-19N, and trout stocking for the river below the dam is provided by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission. The marina located within the campground offers boat and other water craft rentals and picnic and fishing supplies. Dam Area Campground has 24 campsites. Sites 1-18 are electrical; sites 6-11 have 20 amp and 30 amp electric service with water hookup, and site 17 has 20 and 30 amp electric hookup with water and sewer. Non-electric sites are 19-24. Each site provides a picnic table, ground grill, pedestal grill and lantern post. Other amenities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, swim beach, boat ramp, marina and dump station. Lake Greeson is about 12 miles long with over 7,260 surface acres of water fed by the clear cool waters of the Little Missouri River. Loblolly pine, shortleaf pine, sweet gum and oak are the dominant tree species on upland areas of the lake, while bottomland hardwoods are common along rivers, creeks and streams that enter the lake. The public lands around Lake Greeson provide a variety of habitats for numerous species of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, geese, bald eagles, migratory waterfowl and songbirds. Crater of Diamonds State Park is within 15 miles of the campground. It is the only diamond-producing site in the world open to the public.
