Hatch Point Campground

New listing
Hatch Point Campground is located 56 miles southwest of Moab, situated on a mesa top which offers fine views of the surrounding area. The remote and quiet location guarantees excellent star-gazing opportunities. There are 10 individual campsites, limited to 10 people and two vehicles per site. Situated in the middle of the stunning Canyon Rims Recreation Area, Hatch Point has access to miles of 4x4 trails, scenic overlooks, and the Trough Springs Trailhead, where you can hike into the Kane Creek drainage. Most overlooks are accessible by passenger vehicles; Canyonlands Overlook requires 4-wheel drive. Being one of the most remote campgrounds in the Moab Field Office, Hatch Point is a place where you can enjoy solitude and quiet, take in the views, and gaze at the incredible night sky. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, and all share a single vault toilet. There is no group site at this facility. Hatch Point is on the way to the stunning Anticline Overlook, with views of Hurrah Pass, Kane Creek and the Colorado River. Other viewpoints include Minor Overlook and, to the south, Needles Overlook, looking out over Lockhart Basin and the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park.
