Hemlock Lake Campground
Hosted by USDA Forest Service
New listing
Hemlock Lake Campground sits at a beautiful 28-acre, man-made reservoir surrounded by stands of mixed conifers. The reservoir is 33 feet at its deepest point and is stocked with trout, which provides for good fishing from the banks or by boat. Hike the loop around the lake, sit at the nearby picnic area, or put your boat in at the boat ramp. Canoeing, kayaking, non-motorized boating and OHV trail access round out the recreation. Fourteen tent/trailer sites each have a picnic table and fire ring, served by two vault toilets and grey water waste sumps. Sites are first come, first serve. Nearby are Lake in the Woods Campground and the Yellow Jacket Loop Trail #1522, Yakso Falls Trail #1519, Grotto Falls Trail #1503 and Hemlock Falls Trail #1520. The Umpqua National Forest spans 983,239 acres of southwestern Oregon, where verdant stands of hemlock, fir and cedar transition to mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations and alpine ecosystems dominate the high peaks. The word Umpqua means thundering waters.
