Hemlock Meadows Campground

Hosted by USDA Forest Service

New listing

Hemlock Meadows Campground sits at a beautiful 28-acre, man-made reservoir surrounded by stands of mixed conifers. The reservoir is 33 feet at its deepest point and is stocked with trout, which provides for good fishing from the banks or by boat. Relax and enjoy the views of the night sky at one of four campsites. Hike the loop around the lake, sit at the nearby picnic area, or put your boat in at the boat ramp; canoeing, non-motorized boating and OHV trail access are also close at hand. Each of the four tent/trailer sites has a picnic table and fire ring, and the campground has a vault toilet and a boat ramp. Nearby are Lake in the Woods Campground and the Yellow Jacket Loop Trail #1522, Yakso Falls Trail #1519, Grotto Falls Trail #1503 and Hemlock Falls Trail #1520. The Umpqua National Forest covers 983,239 acres of southwestern Oregon, where hemlock, fir and cedar give way to mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations and alpine ecosystems hold the high peaks. The word Umpqua means thundering waters.
