Highland Beach Suites, Unit 1

Positioned nicely near Coast Guard Beach and Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro, this recently renovated two-bedroom, one-bathroom unit sleeps four and is part of a three-unit triplex. Coast Guard Beach is a quick five-minute walk from the property, which also offers direct access to several beautiful bike and walking trails. The unit has one large queen-size bed and one full-size bed, with two pillows and one top blanket per bed and a tabletop fan in each bedroom and in the living room. There is an in-unit washer and dryer, and the kitchen includes a microwave, a 4-burner electric stove and oven range, a coffeemaker, a toaster, pots and pans, eating utensils, plates, cups and glasses, and dish towels and potholders; there is no dishwasher. Outside there is a propane BBQ grill with one tank of propane, trash and recycling bins behind the shed, and access to an outdoor storage shed for bicycles, kayaks, and fishing gear. There is one flat-screen TV, and a full mirror on the back of each bathroom door, useful for tick checks. A few things to know before you go. Towels and sheets are not provided, so plan to bring your own bath towels, beach towels, and bed sheets. There is no outdoor shower. Each unit is allowed two parking spaces only, and this is strictly enforced. There are no cable or internet services, and guests must provide their own USB cable to connect the television to their own device. Cell phone reception can be very weak here; a land line is available for local and emergency calls only. Five-gallon water jugs are provided for drinking, as the tap water is safe for cooking, bathing, and cleaning but should not be used as a drinking water source. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited, inside the property and on the grounds, and pets are strictly prohibited with no exceptions. Ticks and mosquitos are a natural part of the environment at the seashore, so plan accordingly. The Highland Suites offer nearby access to Cape Cod's quiet beaches and tidal flats, with Provincetown's historic village a short drive away and its book stores, galleries, and restaurants. Explore beyond the beach and you will find the seashore is much more, with miles of walking and biking trails through pine forests, across sandy dunes, and alongside freshwater ponds, and lighthouses you can climb for a piece of maritime history. For the wildlife lover, there are opportunities to spot over 450 species of amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, and mammals that make the seashore their home. The great Outer Beach, described by Thoreau in the 1800s, is protected within Cape Cod National Seashore. Forty miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds, and uplands support diverse species, and lighthouses, cultural landscapes, and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod's past and continuing ways of life. Beyond the seashore, the Cape offers paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, surfing, and whale and seal watching, along with hundreds of arts and cultural venues, museums inspired by the Cape's nautical heritage, local towns for shopping, and over 25 local theaters.
