Indian Creek Campground (WY)
Hosted by National Park Service
New listing
Located about eight miles (13 km) south of Mammoth Hot Springs on the road to Norris, Indian Creek Campground — elevation 7,300 feet (2,225 m) — sits near the base of the Gallatin Mountains and offers breathtaking views of Electric Peak. The campground is away from the main road and provides a quieter, more primitive experience than many other locations in the park. The area offers easy access to fishing and hiking, and the Bighorn Pass trailhead is on the entrance road to the campground. Indian Creek offers 70 campsites, with a registration office and information board at the entrance, plus an amphitheater. Highlights in the Mammoth Hot Springs and North area include Obsidian Creek and the Gardner River, the Big Horn Pass Trail, the Sheepeater Cliff picnic area, and Willow Park for wildlife watching. Rustic Falls, Apollonaris Spring and Obsidian Cliff are also nearby.
