Island Campground
Hosted by USDA Forest Service
New listing
Located right off of Highway 138 is the small seven-site Island Campground. Enjoy the shade on a summer day and the sounds of the North Umpqua River. Seven tent/trailer sites each have a picnic table and fire ring, with a vault toilet on site. The campground is open year-round, first come, first serve, and maximum trailer length is 24 feet. Fishing, hiking and water activities fill the days, and there are many nearby trails for hiking and mountain biking, including the Mott and Panther segments of the North Umpqua Trail #1414, Canton Creek Falls Trail #1537 and Bradley Ridge Trail #1551. Steamboat Falls is also close by. The Umpqua National Forest spans 983,239 acres of southwestern Oregon shaped by High Cascades glaciation, whitewater rapids and explosive geologic events, with hemlock, fir and cedar transitioning to mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations. The word Umpqua means thundering waters.
