Lake In The Woods Campground

Hosted by USDA Forest Service

New listing

Nestled in a mixed conifer forest, Lake in the Woods is a 4-acre, man-made lake that is eight feet at its deepest point. The trail cabin located on the site was built in 1907. Eleven campsites sit near the lake, each with a picnic table and fire ring. A vault toilet serves the campground, sites are first come, first serve, and maximum trailer length is 35 feet. Fishing, hiking, picnicking and non-motorized boating are the activities here. Yakso Falls Trail #1519, Hemlock Falls Trail #1520, Hemlock Creek Trail #1505 and Hemlock Lake are all nearby. The Umpqua National Forest covers 983,239 acres of southwestern Oregon, where hemlock, fir and cedar give way to mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations and alpine ecosystems hold the high peaks. The word Umpqua means thundering waters.
