Liz Butte Cabin

Liz Butte Cabin is a single non-electric cabin in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, near Kooskia, Idaho, managed by the U.S. Forest Service. It is a small log building with a steep shake roof, a stovepipe at the ridge and a white-framed door opening onto a covered porch where split firewood is stacked, standing on dry open ground at the edge of a spruce and fir stand. The other photographs show a small green pond held in dense conifers below pale granite slabs, a long view over ridge after forested ridge to blue mountains on the skyline, and a pink and grey evening sky above the treetops and rough meadow grass. Recorded activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping and wildlife viewing, and the site is noted as a historic or cultural one.
