Oak Grove (MS)

New listing
Oak Grove is the largest campground on Sardis Lake and offers convenient access to the most popular recreation spots on the upper and lower lakes. The lower lake recreation areas provide picnicking, swim beaches, basketball and volleyball courts, hiking, and nearby boat access to both the upper and lower lakes. Sardis Lake is a nationally recognized crappie fishery, and is popular for boating, sailing and many other water sports. Oak Grove offers 81 campsites with 50 amp electric, water and sewer hookups. There are three restroom and shower buildings located in the campground, as well as a playground and a boat dock with convenient access to the lower lake. As you look out from the top of Sardis Dam you can view miles of water surrounded by beautiful forests. Sardis Lake's total area covers 98,000 acres of land and water in the rolling hills of north Mississippi. The dam was finished in 1940 as part of a comprehensive flood control plan and controls the waters of the Little Tallahatchie River; the lower lake was created by excavating soil for the nearly 3-mile-long Sardis Dam. Oak Grove is located approximately 10 miles from I-55 and the towns of Sardis and Batesville. Oxford and the University of Mississippi are a 30 minute drive.
