Ohl Olsen Group Campground

New listing

Ohl Olsen Group Campground provides 2 sites for group camping in the Chappie-Shasta OHV Area. Access to the staging area and OHV trails is right next to the campground. The site is ideal for RVs, trailers and toy hauler type camping, and the area is a large flat gravel lot with limited natural shade. Each of the two group campsites has a vault toilet, potable water, picnic tables, a trash can and a campfire ring. Trash service is available, but there are no electric, water or sewer hookups. The two campsites can function separately, but they sit immediately adjacent to each other, so if both are reserved for your group they can function jointly. Chappie-Shasta OHV Area provides 200+ miles of trails for motorcycles, UTVs, ATVs, Jeeps and more, with trails for all skill levels — from front country loops to longer, more remote adventures. The area is primarily used by OHVers, but access to the Sacramento River Rail Trail and Shasta Lake is great too; the rail trail is non-motorized and travels along Keswick Reservoir and the Sacramento River into Redding, CA. The East Keswick Trails add 50+ miles of non-motorized trail popular for hiking, biking and horseback riding; Chamise Peak Trail is a classic view of the "Three Shastas". The campground is nearby to Shasta Lake, a large reservoir for boating, fishing and water-based recreation, and to Keswick Reservoir, which offers great fishing and floating. The surrounding hillsides are coated in trees and shrubs, offering a more secluded feel.
