Outlet Channel Recreation Area is located below the dam at Enid Lake. It is popular among fishermen, cyclists, walkers, and visitors wanting to enjoy a day at the lake picnicking, fishing, walking and cycling. The day use area offers 27 individual picnic sites that include a grill, a serve table and a picnic table, along with three large picnic shelters and a playground. Three accessible comfort stations with flush toilets are located in the area. For anglers there is an accessible fishing pier, two fish cleaning stations and bank fishing in the channel. Pavilions, picnic sites and other amenities are nestled among towering native pine and oak trees. The surrounding woods provide habitat for squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, deer, butterflies, geese and a variety of birds. Nearby day use areas add a volleyball court, softball field, soccer and football field, horseshoe pits, more picnic shelters, a half-mile fitness trail, a fitness exercise area, a playground, bank fishing, boat ramps, life jacket loaner boards, beaches and amphitheaters. The area is off Interstate 55 and easily accessible; the nearby towns of Water Valley and Batesville, Mississippi offer shopping, hotels, restaurants and emergency care facilities if needed.
