R Shaefer Heard Day Use

R Shaefer Heard Day Use Park, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is located on the southern end of West Point Lake, near R. Shaefer Heard Campground. This park offers a variety of recreational opportunities such as hiking and biking trails, boat launching, picnic sites and good access for bank fishing. The park is located near the shoreline of West Point Lake with easy access for bank fishing and a boat ramp for access to the lake. There are two group shelters, each with two tables, a grill and restrooms. West Point Lake extends 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia state line and has 525 miles of shoreline. This location is unstaffed.
