Sawtooth National Forest - Grandjean Campground

Grandjean Campground is managed by the Sawtooth National Forest out of the Stanley Ranger Station. Because of the campground's proximity to the Boise National Forest's Lowman District, many forest visitors do not know that the Sawtooth National Forest manages it. The campground is located in an old growth ponderosa pine forest, and has ten sites for horse campers. The Idaho Centennial Trail heads south along the Payette River, ultimately reaching a lush alpine paradise filled with lakes; once in the lake area, you can complete the loop back to Grandjean. There is fishing in the South Fork of the Payette. Sawtooth Lodge and its swimming pool are one mile away, natural hot springs are 1.5 miles away, and horse trips run out of the Sawtooth Lodge.
