Whitehorse Falls Campground

Hosted by USDA Forest Service

New listing

White Horse Falls Campground has five campsites that sit beneath a sheltering canopy of old growth Douglas-fir. Enjoy the sounds of the Clearwater River as it tumbles into a tranquil pool nearby; the viewing platform is right at the parking area of the day use area. The cool, relaxing setting is one of many along the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway. This small, quiet campground is located 10 miles from Lemolo Lake and 15 miles from the Diamond Lake Recreation Area. The five tent/trailer sites each have a picnic table and fire ring, with a vault toilet on site and a maximum trailer length of 25 feet. Hiking, photography and fishing are the activities here. Crater Lake National Park, the Toketee Recreation Area, the North Umpqua Trail (#1414) and the Dread and Terror Trail (#1461) are also nearby. The Umpqua National Forest spans 983,239 acres of southwestern Oregon, where verdant stands of hemlock, fir and cedar transition to mixed conifers and hardwoods at lower elevations and alpine ecosystems dominate the high peaks. The word Umpqua means thundering waters.
