Yellow Pine Campground (UT)
Hosted by USDA Forest Service
New listing
Yellow Pine Campground is located on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway at an elevation of 7,200 feet. The byway is part of the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah, which are known for their abundant recreational opportunities and scenic beauty. This is not the same campground as the Yellowpine on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains near Rock Creek. The campground is situated among shady pines and aspen, and the dense stands of trees provide nice shade and pretty fall color. Yellow Pine Creek runs alongside the campground, and sagebrush and summer wildflowers dot the landscape. The campground offers 33 single campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, and vault toilet restroom facilities are located throughout. Numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails crisscross this beautiful region, including Yellow Pine, North Fork and Shingle Creek Trails, which all begin nearby. Off-road vehicle trails are in the vicinity, and the Lower Provo River is below the site and across the highway, offering good trout fishing.
