Acadia National Park Ranger Programs

Acadia National Park protects the natural beauty of the highest rocky headlands along the Atlantic coastline of the United States, an abundance of habitats, and a rich cultural heritage. At 3.5 million visits a year, it's one of the top 10 most-visited national parks in the United States. Visitors enjoy 27 miles of historic motor roads, 158 miles of hiking trails, and 45 miles of carriage roads. Rangers provide interpretive programs for visitors that allow visitors to gain a better understanding of the park's natural and cultural resources. These programs are offered during the spring, summer and fall seasons. Some programs allow you to drop in for short interactions with a ranger as you travel through the busiest areas of the park, while others require reservations. The Stars over Sand Beach program requires reservations; the program itself is free.
