Angels Landing: Winter (Hikes on December 1 - February 28)

A permit for hiking Angels Landing in Zion National Park, covering hikes from December 1 through February 28, on a route administered by the National Park Service. The photographs were taken with snow on the ground. The sandstone fin stands red and grey against a blue sky, its ledges and the slopes beneath it under white; in another frame the same rock rises behind frost-covered branches under a flat grey sky, with the canyon floor entirely snowed over. Along the route, snow covers the carved rock steps and the packed trail tread, banked against the canyon wall, with a metal handrail post set into the stone.
