Apostle Islands NL Boat Dock - South Twin Island

South Twin Island lies within Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Wisconsin, managed by the National Park Service. The photograph shows a long, narrow timber dock on pilings running out from a reddish-brown sand beach into open blue water, with cobbles, boulders and bleached driftwood along the shoreline. An enclosed-cabin boat is tied along the outer end of the dock and a sailboat lies at anchor beyond it. Across the water a low, flat, forested shoreline runs off to the horizon under a partly clouded sky.
