Chain of Lakes Recreation Site - Devil's Elbow

Devil's Elbow is a site in the Chain of Lakes area, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The photo shows the entrance sign, a dark panel on two timber posts reading Devil's Elbow Recreation Site with a tent symbol below it and the Western Montana District, Butte Field Office named underneath. The ground around it is dry grass and sagebrush on an open slope. A paved road curves below the sign, and past it a wide stretch of water runs between bare, rocky hills spotted with scattered conifers under a grey overcast.
