New experience

Day use entry to Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in New Mexico. A photograph of the monument looks across a ridge of pale banded rock: rows of tapered, cone-shaped formations in cream and grey, horizontally layered and cut by narrow gullies and a slot between the walls. Above the rock the slopes are dry ground scattered with low green shrubs and small junipers, and darker forested mountains rise across the valley in the distance.
