K-12th: Education Field Trip

Bring your students to Campbell Creek Science Center to explore Alaska's natural world. The Science Center's dynamic education programs spark curiosity and build connections with nature for students. It is the perfect outdoor classroom, where learning and science come to life — here, everyone is a scientist. Programs are half-day, up to three hours. A Seed's Journey and Alaska Animals run all year for K-3rd, and Plant Explorers for 2nd-3rd in fall and spring. For 4th-6th there is What makes a healthy watershed? and Forest Ecosystems in fall and spring, and Dynamic Earth all year. Team Building and Outdoor Survival Skills are open to 4th-12th all year. You indicate your group's grade and program topic choice at checkout. This program takes place primarily outdoors, and temperatures can be 10 degrees colder than in other parts of Anchorage. Ensure students and chaperones come dressed for the weather, including layers and proper footwear for indoor and outdoor activities. All programs are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and science content standards for Alaska. Programs are fully accessible; notify the Science Center in advance of any special needs or requirements for your group. An all-terrain wheelchair is available for participants with mobility impairments.
