New experience

The Lake Georgetown archery deer hunt covers land around Lake Georgetown. The lake is broad and open, seen from the rock riprap of a dam embankment: low wooded shoreline runs the length of the far bank, and grassy flats and shallow inlets fill the near shore where the water has drawn back from the bank. The surrounding cover is Texas hill country brush. One photograph shows a buck standing in waist-high dry grass against a thicket of live oak, another shows three bucks in velvet crossing an open field of grass and wildflowers below a dark line of trees.
