Mt. Jefferson - Duffy Lake Trailhead

A Central Cascades Wilderness day-use permit for the Duffy Lake Trailhead, on the Mt. Jefferson side of the wilderness in Oregon. The photo looks across open green water to the far shore, where a steep slope of dense conifers climbs toward a dark, broken rock summit. Bare grey snags stand throughout the green timber, and the shoreline is low and brushy with a few downed logs at the water's edge. The sky is clear and the slope carries no shade cover apart from the trees themselves.
