Mt. Jefferson - Marion Lake Trailhead

A Central Cascades Wilderness day-use permit for the Marion Lake Trailhead, on the Mt. Jefferson side of the wilderness in Oregon. The photo shows a wide, still lake with a dark wall of conifers along the opposite shore. Behind that treeline the ground rises to ridges streaked with snow, and a jagged rocky summit with snow on its upper slopes stands above them. A tall fir frames the near edge of the frame; the water is flat and the sky clear.
