New experience

South Sandy Shooting Range is an outdoor range in the National Forests in Alabama, managed by the USDA Forest Service. A single shooting line runs the width of the range beneath a long, open-sided metal roof carried on wooden posts, with shooting benches spaced along it and a paved apron in front. Downrange the ground is open and mown, closed off by a raised earthen berm with a wooded ridge of pines and hardwoods rising behind it. Rough grass and a fence separate the firing line from the approach.
