New experience

Steeles Landing sits on the bank of a wide, slow-moving river in the Alabama River Lakes system, managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. A broad paved apron runs down from the parking area and disappears into the water at the shoreline, its edge lined with broken concrete and loose rock. Hardwoods draped in Spanish moss lean out over the bank on both sides and throw patterned shade across the pavement. Water stands around the trunks of the trees at the edge, and the far bank is a low, unbroken line of woods.
