Whitney and Aquilla Lakes Public Hunting Permit
Hosted by US Army Corps of Engineers
New experience
Public hunting on the land around Whitney and Aquilla Lakes, US Army Corps of Engineers projects. The photographs show limestone hill country. A view from a bluff looks down a green cove of the lake, with pale rock ledges and a wide bare shoreline below scrubby juniper and oak. Another shows a shallow clear creek running over flat limestone shelves between brushy banks and leafless trees, and a third follows a narrow footpath of gravel and bare rock through dense green scrub. Wildlife frames show a white-tailed doe in brush, a wild turkey, and a green-winged teal on calm water. Two aerial maps are also included, with the hunting units outlined in green around each lake: lettered and numbered blocks along the shoreline and up the arms of the reservoirs, H and B units at Whitney and A units at Aquilla.
